Policies

Reservation Policy: A deposit equal to the first night’s rate is due 2 days from the date of reservation acceptance. Full payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.

Reservation Guarantee: Once deposit is paid, your reservation slot is guaranteed.

Reservation Changes: We will do our best to accommodate any changes.

Late Reservation Payments: After being one week late, reservation and deposit will be forfeit.

Cancellation Policy: Between 2 days from booking acceptance and 30 days prior to arrival, the deposit of the first night’s rate will be forfeited. Inside 30 days of arrival, full payment will be forfeited.  Sorry, but we are unable to provide refunds for delayed arrivals.

Chalet Guidelines: Check-in time is 4:00pm and check-out time is 10:00am. More than the maximum number of people (ten, 10) for the chalet is prohibited. Smoking in the chalet is prohibited. One small pet is allowed, but please note the $40 additional cleaning fee. Please follow all of the guidelines posted in the chalet. We reserve the right to refuse occupancy if any of the chalet guidelines are not met. Housekeeping is included in the price, and is provided every four days during a five-night or longer stay. So as not to disturb our guests at an inopportune time, guests must call Mountain Works Service at (250) 578-8883 to arrange housekeeping. Guest authorizes up to a $500 CAD charge on their credit card upon financial responsibility for property damage incurred by tenants or guest of tenants. Damage includes, but is not limited to: noise complaints, false fire alarms, missing items and property damage. Guests will agree to park on the left side of the driveway or in the garage, as the downstairs tenants use the right side of the driveway. We are not responsible or liable for any bodily harm to guests or guests of guests while they are on our property or at any location in Sun Peaks Resort. Excessive noise would result in eviction if two or more complaints. Failure to follow chalet guidelines will also result in eviction without reimbursement. We provide a number of extras in the house - robes, DVDs, and special kitchen dishes. You will be charged accordingly if any of these items are damaged or removed from the house. Excessive noise from the hot tub area is not permitted after 11 pm. Occupants may be evicted subsequent to noise complaints and will be charged for damages resulting from the noise complaints. Hemingway House, Jill and Derek Amery, and Amery Vacation Homes are not responsible for any bodily harm to guests or guests of guests while they are on our property or at any location in Sun Peaks Resort.

Guest Stay Contract: A contract will be sent to you and must be signed and returned upon paying the balance of the reservation cost.

Check-In Time (PST): 4:00pm

Check-Out Time (PST): 11:00am

Arrival Days: No particular days.

Smoking: Prohibited

Pets: One small pet is allowed. We have the right to evict at any time should we become aware that the pet is causing damage to the property.

Housekeeping: Includes clean on arrival; cleaned after departure; every 5th day if staying 5 days or longer.  So as not to disturb you at an inopportune moment, please call (250) 578-8883 to arrange for this extra cleaning service.

Garbage Removal: Please place garbage in garage at end of stay or call 250-578-8883 for a special garbage pickup for extended stays.

Long-Term Stays: We offer cleaning every 5 days during long term stays.

Maintenance Emergencies: Please call locally (250) 587-8883, or (604) 418-4800 with any urgent problem. 911 is the emergency number in Sun Peaks for fire, police and ambulance.

Delayed Arrivals: Sorry, but we are unable to refund due to delay.

Courtesy Hold Reservations: Unfortunately, we are unable to provide holds on unconfirmed reservations.

Maximum Sleeping Capacity: 11 (beds for 10, plus crib).

Minimum Age Requirement: none.

Property Damage: Guest authorizes up to a $500 CAD charge on their credit card upon financial responsibility for property damage incurred by tenants or guest of tenants.  Should a credit cad not be provided, guests agrees to pay invoice in the amount of damage.  Damage includes, but is not limited to: noise complaints, false fire alarms, missing items and property damage.

Missing Items: You will be charged a replacement cost for items that are missing from the house.

Excessive Cleaning Costs: We reserve the right to charge an additional fee for excessive cleaning costs. You will be notified just after checkout of the excess mess, and a price will be given to you at that time.  Fee will be charged on invoice or credit card provided.

Liability: We are not responsible for any bodily harm to guests or guests of guests while they are on our property or at any location in Sun Peaks Resort.

Excessive Noise: Excessive noise from the hot tub area is not permitted after 11 pm. Occupants may be evicted subsequent to noise complaints and will be charged for damages resulting from the noise complaints.  The hot tub area can be enjoyed, but please engage only in quiet conversation out of respect for our neighboring families.

Terms of Eviction: We reserve the right to evict with 12 hours notice should we receive two or more complaints and should those complaints contravene our stated policies.

Refusal of Business: We reserve the right to refuse occupancy.
